What is UMO?
Ukraine Ministries of Oklahoma (UMO) began in 1996, shortly after the Soviet Union broke up and communism fell. The founder of UMO, Gus Downing, established the ministry out of a desperate need for training for young men and women who were filling leadership positions in churches.

Eli Project, which is part of the UMO ministry, assists families in finding special needs, Down syndrome and older children in Ukraine who need a family. We help match families with children, help create the paperwork needed to complete the adoption, and assist families with fundraising.

The UMO team leads several ministry trips each year. We lead camps, Bible schools, conferences, pastor training, church leadership training, evangelism crusades, orphan ministry and many other ministry events.
